There's no such thing as Lose, only Learn

As I reflected on HarHar’s departure, I could not help but think, he was right. 

We have been playing it safe for a while now as we have been learning to survive; but, perhaps now was the time to be courageous.  After all, you either Win or you Learn, there is no such thing as Lose.

Just then out of nowhere Mansa Nutmeg was ambushed.  “What are you doing out here all alone?”  Mansa stood shocked.  A young woman no taller than his waist height stood there..  She wore pearls around her neck with her winter cap encrusted in gemstones.

“I am out gathering my thoughts, what are you doing out alone?” Mansa riposted.  I left my last alliance, everyone was nearly dead.” The woman replied.  Well, you probably do not want to join me but I am heading back to my alliance.”  “You are the leader?” She asked.  “I am.”  “Then I will follow you.” The woman declared. “Why do you want to follow me?”  “You gather thoughts, so you must have many things to teach from your storehouse, I am Spag.” Spag’s smile was beaming as she reached out to shake Mansa Nutmeg’s hand.  “Well I am not sure about that, but come along, I will lead the way.” Mansa led Spag back towards Crystal Dawn alliance.

Back at Crystal Dawn alliance, Mansa Nutmeg and Spag were greeted by Conny.  “We received more survivors today!  Whatever you are doing to recruit, it must be working!”  Conny said beaming.  “This is good, we have much work to do, follow me.”  Conny and Spag followed Mansa Nutmeg into the strategy room where they found Desenzo analyzing the State map.

“We need a facility to capture, what is available?” Desenzo looked shocked at the question.  “I am not sure, you have never asked that before…”  “Well now is as good a time as any.” Mansa confirmed.  “COR has an open facility, our banners are built nearby and it is accessible.” Desenzo suggested.  “Good we will take it, let’s prepare, has anyone seen -...”  “Here I am Commander.”  Tweety stood taller than all of the others in Dawn Alliance, you would think she would stand out but she was the most covert of all the DWN Warriors.  “Oh course you are, Tweety.”  Mansa said with relief.  Ever since Tweety arrived while she was not always the strongest, she was there…  She had developed, persevered and improved much since she arrived, and wherever she lacked in power she made up for in courage.  No matter the trouble Mansa Nutmeg had faced, Tweety was behind, supporting, and ready for battle.  “I may be getting us into trouble today with this one, Tweety.” “At least we’ll burn together.“ She replied.

Just as the sun rose over the Icefield, the Crystal Dawn alliance was marching towards the COR facility.  But what was the best way to attack, Mansa Nutmeg thought to himself.  As Mansa Nutmeg analyzed the area he thought he may have seen an opportunity.  “Huzzahn, Tweety, and Desenso take Spag and Conny and attack the facility when I give the word.  I have an idea…”  Mansa Nutmeg said pensively.

Mansa Nutmeg circled around the facility, split his troops into three equal teams and seent them each to attack a different point of CORs banner alarm network.  Immediately, COR troops rallied upon Mansa Nutmeg and his troop deployments, the raid had begun.  “NOW! Attack the facility everyone!” Mansa instructed. Based on the distance COR needed to travel, Mansa Nutmeg figured if he could distract COR for just 11 minutes DWN would have a chance to capture COR’s facility.  

Mansa Nutmeg clocked 8 minutes before COR would arrive, and began to review his options.  There was no way Mansa Nutmeg’s forces could win in a head to head battle against COR, however, if he could maintain his diversion, and steal time away, they would have a chance for victory.  With now less than one minute remaining before COR troops arrived, Mansa Nutmeg prepared his troops for retreat.  It was not a goal to destroy COR’s communication banners but just to provide a distraction.  By now, COR had recognized the ruse and began sending troops to defend the facility, but would they arrive in time? 

Crystal Dawn Alliance was less than 2 minutes from victory when the unexpected happen.  Out of the midst of nowhere the COR leader Joker the Furry teleported to the Facility with 3 COR minions following in tow.  They attacked the facility and regained control forcing Crystal Dawn allies to retreat.  

Not only did COR regain control, but they also began to target, send troops and burn down the DWN banners.  Crystal Dawn’s troops re-deployed to defend the banners, but the effort was in vain, the COR forces were too strong.  COR began pushing back the DWN alliance until they were no longer in reach of the facility.

Mansa Latham was defeated.  DWN failed to capture the facility, Mansa Nutmeg’s shenanigans got the DWN banners destroyed and the alliance was left now to tend to their dead and injured.  Yet the alliance was not in somber spirits.  There were no celebrations, but the feeling in the air was that of hope.  They were not victorious that day, but they had given themselves a chance. They knew as long as they stuck together, they could overcome anything.  As Mansa Nutmeg looked proudly over his alliance, he caught eyes with Tweety who wore a face of jubilation.

“It is OK my King, do not be depressed.”  “I didn’t see you there Spag, you must be regretting your decision to join us?”  “Why would I regret?  Had I still been with my old alliance, I would already be dead. Dawn saved me.”  Spag said thoughtfully.  “It was my second alliance, and now I am learning from you in this alliance.”  “You bless me that you are here, I appreciate you Spag.”

🏢 How to Capture a Facility 🏢

Facility are small tech building scattered throughout the State map.  By capturing these facilities you gain in-game benefits that enhance the performance of your alliance and enhance the abilities of your City including training troops faster, faster construction speed, etc.

In order to attack and capture a facility your alliance HQ needs to be connected to the facility either directly through HQ territory or by connection through banner territory.  Once an alliance occupies and captures a facility for 15-30 minutes the alliance will receive the relevant performance buff for 3 days before the facility will be made vulnerable for capture once again.  During the vulnerable period, an alliance will need to protect the facility location for a period of 24 hours.

During this 24 hour period of time, if an alliance opponent captures and holds the facility for 15-30 minutes the opponent alliance will capture the facility and gain performance buffs for the next 3 day period of time.

Capturing a Facility Strategy

The difficulty of capturing a facility depends on the location and competition surrounding the location.

💪  For Offense Attacking Facility:  Place Molly, Jessie, Seo-yoon, Jasser or (any other hero with attack buffs) in the Left hero box when creating a troop deployment to raise attack power.

🙅  For Defense Defending Facility:  Place Sergey, Patrick, Bahiti, or Walis or (any other hero with Defense buffs) in the Left hero box when creating a troop deployment to raise defense power.

🔢  Send continuous raids of troop deployments to replace any lost troops lost to injury from earlier raids

Connection Strategy Pros & Cons:

  • Build banners

    • Slower process

    • Progress is visible on the World Map

    • Does not risk disrupting banner system collecting alliance resources

  • Relocate HQ:

    • Best for surprise attacks

    • Requires alliance to rebuild HQ to relocate

    • Disrupts alliance resource gathering when disconnected from HQ

Additional Tips:

5️⃣  Alliance R5 should teleport to Facility location first so other may use Alliance Teleporter to relocate to Facility area.

🕴️  If you HQ is located close to Facility members can use Territory Teleporter to easily relocate to Facility Area

🛒  Alliance Teleporter and Territory Teleporter are cheaper and more common than Advanced Teleporter.

🏃💨  If the Facility is vulnerable and empty it is best to Attack, Occupy and message alliance for reinforcement

🛡️  If the facility is already occupied by another alliance, it is best to send a Rally Attack

🤕  Keep Infirmary empty so if any of your troops are injured in battle they will not be lost
